Movement Practitioner. I have been serving the local community for over eleven years. I'm
I am a graduate of The Rolf Institute™ of Structural Integration. This is the only school that
certifies Rolfers. There are many who claim to be, but only graduates of The Rolf Institute™
are genuine Rolfers.
I believe strongly in keeping my skills fresh and technically sharp so that I may serve my
clients in the most efficient way. Since becoming a Certified Rolfer, I have continued to
develop my work with post graduate study in advanced movement ideas, spinal mechanics,
head, neck & shoulder work, and a human cadaver lab dissection.
My specialization is in developing a sense of body awareness to improve posture, to help
manage pain or improve athletic performance, including practices of yoga, pilates or even
meditation. Clients learn how to let go of tension, stress, and fear within their body during
this process.
I have had success in helping people make healthier choices when it comes to their body.
We negotiate new and more efficient ways of moving, breathing, sitting, standing and
walking. Sometimes we even look at new ways of riding a bike, swinging a golf club, sitting in
the car, playing the flute, practicing yoga, or sitting at a computer terminal. I place a great
deal of emphasis on safe fun ways you can participate in your own process of healing.
I was introduced to Rolfing® because I needed solutions to postural unease. I slouched a lot
and could never maintain "good" posture for an extended period of time without a lot of
effort. It just wasn't natural. Now that I have been Rolfed, the effort is gone. I'm naturally in
that erect place because I have the balance and support in my body to maintain good
posture without "trying" to hold myself there.
The pleasant "side effects" I experienced from Rolfing® were delightful. I had broken my
back in college and was told by some of the best back specialists in Boston that I would have
to live with the results of this accident for the rest of my life. To my surprise, around the fifth
session of my Rolfing® process, I realized my symptoms were gone. I thought for sure the
aches and pains would come back! To this day, over thirteen years later, they have not. I
never intended to seek relief for my back through Rolfing®, but when balance was restored
to my WHOLE body, my symptoms were alleviated.
Can you imagine your daily life feeling flexible? energetic? free from those little aches in
pains you feel first thing in the morning? Or actually wanting to exercise? This is the way I
felt. This is the feedback I receive consistently from my clients about the effects of Rolfing®.
Pain is usually the last symptom that arrives in order to notify you there is an imbalance in
your body. Waiting to do something about it is just harming to your body; living with daily pain
is unnecessary.
Pain effects your mood and certainly your enjoyment of life. Regardless of which modality
you chose to assist you in healing, do something sooner rather than later about persistent
discomfort and/or pain. After all, you would take your car in to be fixed if the little red light
was flashing. So why not take yourself in to be evaluated, when your little red light is on?
